The Palm Beach Experience!
1:00pm – 5:00PM
To begin the “lifestyle experience”, you must first “see it.” Our narrated tour of Palm Beach will begin as we head south along A1A and start with the “house that dough built”, the Sara Lee Mansion, the former home of John and Yoko, and Rod Stewart's home.
You will also learn about the architecture and various other tidbits… Our tour includes discussion of real estate values and who lives where.
“Phase two” of the Palm Beach Experience is a visit to the former home and now museum, of Henry Morrison Flagler. Henry Flagler is considered THE visionary of Florida. It was he who pushed the railroad through from Jacksonville to Key West thereby opening up the whole state. Henry Flagler and John D. Rockefeller were partners in a new company called Standard Oil. That is how he made one of his many fortunes. Flagler’s friends were Henry Ford and Thomas Edison! Imagine. He and his wealthy friends came to view Palm Beach as their “Must go to” destination during the winter months.
Guests will tour the “family home” called Whitehall. This 55-room home is a fine example of the Beaux Arts style of architecture.
The home is built around a central courtyard and boasts 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a couple of ballrooms and extremely interesting artwork, furnishings and artifacts. You will enjoy a special guided tour that will also include the Flagler Keenan Pavilion that houses Henry Flagler’s private railcar.
Of course, NO trip to Palm Beach would be complete without a visit to the world famous Worth Avenue.
Worth Avenue tidbits: Famous designers like Valentino, Blass, Givenchy, and Pauline Trigere got their big boost to launch their careers during the 60’s by being in a prominent shopping area like Palm Beach. Lilly Pulitzer, with her inventive line of colorful cotton print dresses, shorts and skirts still has a shop in Palm Beach. Wally Finlay Galleries, Maus & Hoffman, Gucci, Van Cleef and Arpels, Feragamo, Neiman Marcus, and countless high-end stores occupy this famous street today.

The Everglades are located a short distance west of the settled areas of Ft. Lauderdale. This is a huge primeval quiet, a wilderness that is unique on the North American continent.
The Everglades is the largest “wetlands” in the United States but while frequently called a swamp, is actually an 80-mile wide river, some 18” deep and moving slowly to Florida Bay. This park is home to many rare species of birds including roseate spoonbills, bald eagles, ospreys and many others. It is also home to the last few Florida panthers that share the wilderness with alligators, glades deer, black bear, rare insects and sea creatures.
Climb aboard an airboat for an unforgettable experience in the Everglades. These airboats have covered passenger compartments. This means that you will not get sunburned. Being in an airboat is like being totally free in the one of the most beautiful and quiet places on earth.
Your guide will point out the highlights of the history of the Everglades as you glide through the river of grass at 35 mph. (ONE HOUR airboat ride)
Guests will also be treated to 15-20 minute live alligator presentation featuring the Gator Boys Alligator Rescue team.
PRICE: $96.00 per person (minimum of 15 guests)
SUGGESTED ATTIRE: Light jacket, shorts or long pants. A visor or hat is advisable as well.
